RISK MANAGEMENT
Like all businesses Insurance Carriers need to control costs while improving service to their customers. Over the past several years, existing insurance companies and those companies entering the Specialty Insurance Market have been making strategic decisions to unbundle or outsource claims handling and risk engineering as a cost control measure, and to achieve a higher level of expertise in the claims handling process.

Risk Engineering
WCD provides engineering, industrial hygiene, hazardous materials management, schedulers, estimators, regulatory compliance, environmental insurance, and remediation professionals to work with our Client to develop an effective risk management program. Within this customized program, WCD:
- Supports the carriers in house underwriting team
- Provides pre –binding document review and on-site inspection(s)
- Serves as an industry expert, providing consulting and advice
- Reviews and consults on new product development
- Provides Project Management Oversight of ongoing investigative or remedial activities.
- Supports reinsurer meetings
- Serves as a technical and market consultant to assist our clients in developing their book of business
- Assists with marketing and sales, including client introductions
Claims Management
WCD has established a claims processing capability. A dedicated professional is assigned as the "Claims Coordinator" for our Client's book of business. Working in concert with our Client, WCD customizes the claims process, in accordance with their program requirements, and develops the requisite standard forms and documentation. In this capacity, WCD:
- Provides claim oversight and file management
- Reviews and analyzes claims submittals, correspondence, technical support, and reports
- Reviews invoices and cost documents for accuracy, necessity, and reasonableness
- Conducts independent policy review and provides a draft coverage determination
- Provides continued updates to the insured regarding claims investigation and determination
- Provides verbal and written reports as to the status of a claim, and posts reports on a secure web-accessible server.
Emergency Response
WCD is a premier emergency response management consultant and remediation/restoration construction manager and contractor, providing timely response and hazard mitigation, remediation, regulatory interface, recovery, drying, and reconstruction management services. We specialize and excel in those sites with an environmental release, spill, and/or decontamination requirement, as well as those with chemical, biological, and complex health and safety issues.
